Business Accreditation

A review of an organisation's own training and quality practices, for businesses and other organisations that run learning programs for their people.

Organisations train their staff, partners and customers every day. Business Accreditation asks whether that training is designed, delivered, assessed and recorded well enough to stand up to independent review.

Who it is for

Businesses, associations and other organisations that run internal or external learning programs, and want an independent, documented judgement of how well they do it. It is separate from the accreditation of educational institutions.

What is reviewed

  • How training needs are identified and linked to the organisation's goals
  • The design of programs and the outcomes they aim for
  • The qualifications and support of trainers
  • Delivery methods, including online delivery and the technology behind it
  • Assessment of what participants have learned
  • Records of participation and results
  • How the organisation reviews and improves its own training

HCDE adapts the review to the organisation's size and purpose, and uses the relevant parts of the HCDE standards.

What you receive

  • A written decision with findings and recommendations
  • If successful, a certificate stating the scope and dates, and a registry entry that can be verified
  • Follow-up through annual monitoring

What it is not

  • It is not an audit of the organisation's products, services or finances.
  • It is not a licence, a certification of any professional, or a government approval. HCDE is a private, independent, non-governmental body. Its accreditation rests on its own published standards and does not constitute governmental recognition.
