Registry

Registry and Verification

HCDE's public record of accreditation decisions: how it is organised, how to check a record and where to find notices of changes in status.

An accreditation is worth only what the public can check. The registry is where HCDE records each decision, so that a learner, an employer or a partner institution can confirm it without asking the institution.

What each record shows

Who

The name of the institution, training center or program, and its country.

What

The scope of the accreditation, and the type of certificate issued.

Numbers

A registration number and a certificate number, both printed on the certificate.

When

The date of issue, the date to which it runs and the current status.

Ways in

How records are kept honest

  • A record is created when a decision is issued and updated whenever the status changes.
  • Suspensions and withdrawals appear in the registry and as public notices; they are not quietly removed.
  • Applications that were deferred or declined are not published.
  • If a certificate and the registry differ, the registry prevails.

The meaning of each status is defined on Decisions and Status.
